A refuge in the
digital forest.
Shadeholt is an independent studio of exactly one.
In the digital forest, there's a shaded grove where an owl made her home. She calls it Shadeholt, and from here, in the quiet, she builds.
Every Shadeholt app is a personal project. It starts as a sketch in the dark, becomes a prototype, then gets shaped, feature by feature, late evening by late evening, until it feels inevitable. One person carries it the whole way: the idea, the design, the code, the release, and the support that comes long after launch.
That independence is the point. There's no growth team monetising your attention, no investor demanding the data of the people who trust these apps. Privacy isn't a feature here; it's the foundation. Your data stays yours, by design.
Work happens slowly, deliberately, in the shadows. The reward isn't scale; it's software that earns a permanent place on your home screen, and stays well-tended for years.
One vision,
from start to finish.
Brainstorm
Every app begins as a real itch, a problem worth solving well.
Design & build
Interface and engine, drawn and coded by the same person for a coherent whole.
Release
Shipped only when it's ready: quality over a calendar.
Support
Still here long after launch, answering, fixing, refining.
Principles
Privacy first
Your data is never sold and never used for ads. On-device by default; your information is never the product.
Patience over pace
Features ship when they feel right, not when a deadline says so. Slow is smooth.
Details matter
The smallest interactions get the same care as the headline ones. Craft is cumulative.
Here for the long haul
An app isn't finished at launch. Support and refinement continue for as long as people rely on it.
